The Road Trip Rewind

Readers of Christina Lauren and Emily Henry will adore this standalone follow-up to The First Date Prophecy from 90’s Nickelodeon star of The Adventures of Pete and Pete and his real-life wife, as Back to the Future meets 10 Things I Hate About You when the past, the present, and two hearts (with unfinished business) collide in the most epic, hilarious, and downright poignant way . . .

Up-and-coming screenwriter Beatrix Noel’s dream project is finally a reality—her 90s-era script is in production. Less dreamy is the A-list actor in the starring role—none other than Rocco Riziero, who jilted Beatrix on New Year’s Eve back in 1999. Without his celebrity status, the project would likely still be withering on her hard drive, but that doesn’t mean Beatrix won’t shame him at every opportunity
on-set—especially when it becomes painfully obvious he doesn’t even remember her . . .

Boxed-in as a Hollywood pretty-boy, Rocco is thrilled to tackle a genuinely dramatic role. But he’s perplexed about why the screenwriter treats him like a maggot. And awkward becomes irksome when their bickering results in a car crash right outside the famed Roxy Theatre on Sunset Boulevard—site of the New Year’s Eve party where everything went wrong . . .

Shockingly, Beatrix, Rocco, and the car, are uninjured. The twist? They’re clearly, truly, somehow, still in December, still on Sunset—but in 1999. Their mission? They’ll have to work together to correct their old mistakes—which just might bring them closer than either expects . . .

But can they change the past without altering their future selves—and hold on to what they’ve found together? Only time-travel will tell . . .

The Road Trip Rewind delivered the perfect amount of ’90s nostalgia all wrapped up in a hilarious caper involving movie set drama, a time-traveling car named Delilah, and an ode to all the record stores that have closed and the Bath & Body Works products that have been discontinued. The banter between Rocco and Beatrix crackled on the page and made the tender moments between them all the more poignant. This is a book about confronting your past mistakes but also about making peace with who you are in the present, and I loved going on this journey with the characters in two different timelines. The Tamberellis write such special romances–there’s nothing else quite like them!

Kate and Danny Tamberelli have done it again! The Road Trip Rewind is another smart, fun, totally engaging rom-com that I could not put down. Not only is it full of the best 90s nostalgia moments, but it also offers a heartwarming look at the power of second chances for anyone who has ever wanted to redo the past. I loved every second of it!

Alongside the whimsy, fun, and laughs of this delightful romcom, The Road Trip Rewind takes a compassionate look at the hard-won second chances we all deserve, and the ways in which we heal. With all the banter, heartfelt connection, and sizzling chemistry, I was cheering for Beatrix and Rocco until the ending credits rolled. Kate and Danny Tamberelli pair their top-notch humor and heart in this more-than-worthy sophomore romance. This is a writing duo with a magical spark and zero limitations. Readers won’t be able to get enough.
